The fight with Coronavirus remains stronger than ever. More and more COVID cases have been identified in various locations in the country, including Imus City. Classes have been suspended, in the hope of preventing the further spread of infection.

GEANHS however, remains vigilant amid the national health issue. To ensure that the campus is safe and free from dangerous diseases, school administrators led the maintenance personnel in disinfecting classrooms, laboratories, and offices on March 13, 2020.

Continuous monitoring and disinfection are essential in overcoming the grave effects of COVID 19.

Together, the Filipino community will strive against this modern nemesis.

The Coronavirus outbreak has brought about both concern and fear among Filipinos. Thus, GEANHS advocated proper hygiene and sanitation measures such as hand washing and wearing of face masks.

In the hope of bringing awareness among students, teachers, personnel and even parents, information posters on avoiding the spread of Coronavirus were posted on bulletin boards, classrooms, and offices.

Information drives were also implemented, with teachers and students discussing the nature of the illness, according to credible, international research.

GEANHS administrators, clinic personnel, and SDRRM coordinators teamed up to make the information campaign possible and encourage the community to be more vigilant against the disease.

The Schools Division of Imus City aided and monitored GEANHS in its implementation of the campaign to fight the harmful effects of Coronavirus.

EDUCATION STRIVES AMID COVID 19: EMILIANS LEARN ONLINE

The tremendous effects of COVID 19 are felt by Filipinos in terms of economics, transport, and daily living; and even education was not spared. However, given Filipinos’ positivity, ingenuity, and love for lifelong learning, DepEd developed and implemented the use of DepEd Commons, an online learning app.

DepEd Commons allows students at home to continue learning despite immobility. The user-friendly app also enables teachers to monitor students’ progress and achievement. In a world where information can be acquired with the tap of a finger, DepEd Commons ensures that learners receive factual, accurate and intended information, anchored on set competencies for specific subject areas.

In support and belief on the power of technology, GEANHS began implementing the use of DepEd Commons among its students. For the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon in March and April, GEANHS is confident that Emilians continue learning at home.

Through technology, education will strive and Emilians will never stop learning.
